Why not stay at a Hunter Valley B&B with a difference? We are the first Hunter Valley bed and breakfast that actually fronts the Hunter River in the Lower Hunter region. Peacock Grove Bed & Breakfast is located a few kilometres upstream from the historic city of Maitland and so would also serve as a Maitland B&B and yet is the epitome of rural tranquillity. Whilst being within easy reach of the Hunter Valley wine region we are well off the busy tourist track.

Once an old dairy farm, the charming farmhouse has been restored to reflect its previous heyday glory and is now located on an idyllic 150 acre mixed farm that comprises 2000 olive trees, cattle and crops that are all grown and raised using biodynamic and organic principles.

Located just two hours north of Sydney, Peacock Grove is a quiet relaxing retreat where you can unwind and enjoy nature at its very best. Sit back on the verandah and take in the beautiful rural scenery of tree covered hills which form the backdrop to gently undulating farm land, or take a stroll along the majestic Hunter River. Far enough away to reap the rewards of country life, yet just six minutes off the New England Highway and close to surrounding attractions such as Port Stephens or award winning Hunter Valley wineries.

The B&B was opened in March 2001 after over twelve months restoration work on the original 1927 home. The homestead is built on 150 acres of farm land which is well along the way towards being converted from a dairy stud into a bio-dynamic olive farm.

Our accommodation comprises two queen-size suites, and guests are welcome to use both the lounge and dining room. There is a log fire in the communal lounge room and both guest-rooms are equipped with their own reverse cycle air conditioning and TVs. Your choice of a light or full country breakfast can be served in the dining room or al fresco on the verandah.

Peacock Grove offers two guest room options:

We offer the "Kalamata Suite", which may be supplemented with an additional folding bed. This bedroom has its own en-suite, private entrance and verandah.

The "Manzanillo Suite" is smaller than the Kalamata Suite. This room also has its own en-suite, private entrance and verandah.

Tariff

Prices per guest room per night include your choice of a light or a full country style breakfast. We regret to say, that accommodation from Monday through to Thursday night is not available at present.

All prices are quoted in Australian Dollars, inclusive of GST.

NOTE:  THERE IS A $20 SURCHARGE ON SINGLE NIGHTS ON LONG AND CERTAIN SPECIAL EVENTS WEEKENDS.  IN AUGUST AND SEPTEMBER OUR WINTER SPECIAL IS $20 LESS THAN THESE NORMAL RATES WITH A FURTHER $20 SAVING ON A SECOND NIGHT

Arrival/Departure Times 
We would appreciate if arrivals could be after 3pm and departures by 11 am.  Should you wish to travel outside these hours please let us know at the time of booking and we will try and oblige

Cancellation Policy
In the event of a cancellation, and we receive no rebooking for the nights in question, the following fees will apply to any refund due with the time to be taken from the expected date of arrival.

• More than 28 days - Full refund less administration fee ($20)
• Between 7 and 28 days  Administration fee plus 20% of tariff retained
• Between 1 and 7 days - Administration fee plus 50% of tariff retained
• Less than 24 hours no refund
  
  In the event of a cancellation and we receive a rebooking for the nights in question a full refund will apply less an administration fee ($20)
